John Simatovich Elementary School

Thank you to all the teachers that showed their support at educator night last night. Tonight is "Dig Pink Night" for Volleyball. Please show your support.

Celebrating National Principals Month! A big THANK YOU to all of our UTSC principals for leading with heart, cheering on our students and staff, and helping make our schools such special places to learn and grow. We appreciate everything you do for our school community — today and every day!

October is Bullying Prevention Month. At UTSC, we choose kindness, speak up for others, and stand together to stop the hate. Think twice before saying something that isn’t kind—your words matter. Students who need help are encouraged to talk with a school counselor or visit www.stompoutbullying.org.

Thank you to our rock star counselor, Mrs. Dobson for putting on our annual College & Career Fair today for our students! We had over 30 representatives from careers, military branches, trades, and colleges. Thank you to our community for showing up for our WHS kids 💚🧡

See you tonight!

JSE 5th graders have been enjoying Camp Goodfellow at the Dunes Learning Center this week. Cabin stays, a walk through time, night hikes, and succession trail long day hikes make for interactive days of learning about the amazing Dunes right in our area! #BearcatExperiences #youarelovedatJSE

Porter County Soil and Water sent the wonderful Mrs. Benson to teach our second grade students about nature and the life around us. #BearcatConnect #youarelovedatJSE

JSE 5th graders are trading desks for trails as their classroom for the next few days will be at Camp Goodfellow. Thank you, JSE PTO, our teachers, Mrs. Humyak and Miss Drake, and chaperones for making this possible! #BearcatExperiences #youarelovedatJSE

Second graders at JSE are hard at work today! Mrs. Sullivan works with math groups on evens and odds, and Mrs. Ross challenges students to create predicates to finish the sentences. #BearcatPride #youarelovedatJSE

JSE teachers and staff help learning through small groups, whole class, and individual support as needed. We love our Bearcats and choose every student everyday! #BearcatPride #youarelovedatJSE

Today, our school community pauses to remember September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage, service, and unity shown that day. Bearcats will never forget.

JSE's Books, Bots, and Brownies featured Pig the Pug and our awesome WHS football players! Thank you to Mrs. Kegebein for partnering with WHS for a fabulous night of literacy and STEM! #youarelovedatJSE #BearcatConnect

Join us tomorrow evening for our fall literacy event!

Join Superintendent Leigh Barnes tomorrow evening at 6PM in the WHS Auditorium to listen, learn and ask questions about the upcoming Referendum Renewal of 2026.
