Every Student, Every Day at UTSC!
Since 2008, I have had the privilege of working in the Union Township School Corporation. I feel extremely blessed to be part of a school corporation that has a dedicated and compassionate staff, involved parents and community and most importantly, outstanding students who put forth their best effort in all learning endeavors. Before becoming Principal of John Simatovich Elementary, I was an elementary teacher and most recently the guidance counselor at Wheeler High School. As a teacher and counselor at both the elementary and high school level, I feel equipped to ensure our students are prepared for the next level.I am a graduate of DePauw University, University of Michigan, Purdue University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Indiana State University. I have an undergraduate degree in elementary education and master's degrees in school social work and school counseling. My education for school administration and leadership was completed at Indiana Wesleyan University and Indiana State University. I am a member of several educational organizations, attend professional development opportunities, and will continue to seek opportunities to educate myself in the world of educational research to continue my journey as a life-long learner. My family lives in Valparaiso. My husband Matt and I enjoy navigating life with three young children, Caroline, Lillian, and Edward. We are immersed in elementary events and surrounded by elementary aged children at our home and in our community. Our family looks forward each year to attending JSE and UTSC events.
